Allergies occur when your immune system is low, so be sure to maintain a balance diet with plenty of whole fruits, vegetables, anti-inflammatory foods and products rich in omega 3 such as salmon, walnuts, tofu, spinach and garlic (a natural anti-histamine).

Try diffusing Eucalyptus Essential Oil around your bedroom whilst you sleep to relieve allergy symptoms and warn off any respiratory bacteria. Also, consider losing a few extra pounds through eating a balanced diet as excess weight can make breathing difficult when sleeping.

Stress can play havoc with allergies, so why not try taking up some de-stressing activities. Yoga has been shown to have a stabilising effect on the immune system, so take up regular yoga practice to manage stress and relax your mind and body.

spring clean

Tackle the dust in every room and begin to keep windows and doors closed to stop pollen entering and becoming trapped in your living space. Also, consider anti-allergy bedding and duvets. These duvets encase anti-allergy treated fibre clusters which are also bacteria and dust mite resistant. Give our 4.5 tog summer light weight duvet a try for a restful, sneeze free snooze.

Be sure to always wear sunglasses when outdoors to avoid pollen contact and itchy eyes. In addition, it is wise to stay indoors during the mornings as pollen counts are always at their highest during the early hours.
