A Holiday Celebration
The holidays are a wonderful time of year. Squeezed between the months of October and December is Hallowe’en, Bonfire Night and Christmas. It’s the time of year for cosy nights, hot chocolate, blankets and a movie.
It’s also the time of year for family and friends. You might find you’re spending more time with the people closest to you, and you may even be hosting them in your home. If they’re travelling from a distance to come and see you, you’ll probably offer your home up to them and suggest they stay with you.
Whether you’re a newbie to hosting or a professional, there are always things you should do when you have guests over. It’s a good idea to get fresh new bedding, and wash it once before putting it on the bed so it smells freshly washed. You should buy new decor accessories such as candles and throws to make your guests’ room extra cosy and welcoming. Ready-made curtains are an easy change that you can make to a room to instantly make it feel more luxurious.
You want to achieve the feel of a hotel room whilst making your guests feel as comfortable as possible. You want them to be able to have a shower whenever they want, without having to ask first. Ideally, you want them to feel as if they’re in their own home. So how can you achieve this?
We’ve recently put all the answers in a new ebook, which showcases everything you need to know when it comes to entertaining in your home during the festive season. We’ve even included some tips on how to clean up after a dinner party, and there’s a printable checklist which takes you step-by-step through what you should be doing the week before, the day before and the night of the party. And because we’re slowly heading for Christmas, there are some tips for decorating your Christmas table to wow your guests for Christmas lunch, and how you can decorate your guests’ bedroom for Christmas too.
We surveyed 600 people to gather some unique information to include in the ebook about what the public really thinks about having guests over. It revealed that 44% of hosts worry the most about their guests not having a good time. It also revealed that nearly 9 out of 10 people will be found cleaning and tidying right before their guests arrive.
