Housewife vs. Oxford vs. Square Pillowcases

The main difference is the finish, not the fit. Housewife is the most common UK style, a plain envelope closing with no visible border, and fits our standard-size pillows exactly. Oxford adds a flat, stitched border (typically 5–8cm) around the edge for a more formal, layered look, popular in hotel-style bedrooms. Square pillowcases are sized for continental/European pillows and double up well as cushion covers if you want to coordinate your bedding with your soft furnishings.
